Following Jesus

In the “Great Commission”, Jesus told his disciples to make disciples—not simply “converts”.  They didn’t have to guess what he meant; he had already explained that in order to be his disciple, one had to “hold to [his] teaching”.  Are we being Jesus’ disciples?  Are we making disciples?  None of us will know the truth or be set free until we follow Jesus’ teachings.

If our understanding of God and his will is only based on opinion and interpretation, it’s no wonder that so many in our day believe that there is no absolute truth.  So like an archaeologist, I dig into the Word and report what ‘s there.  Sooner or later, I’ll probably step on everyone’s pet teaching but I encourage you to be like the Bereans, who “examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true”.  (Acts 17:11) Don’t take my word for it, look it up! Join me in the quest to follow Jesus more closely.
